Meet Jermeen
Jermeen Sherman is a social impact consultant working to elevate community led transformations across social services to improve life and generational outcomes for vulnerable communities.
She combines the best of strategic and analytical thinking from the business world with an unrelenting commitment to equity-focused systems change as a social impact consultant. She leverages more than 10 years of cross-sector expertise in public sector management consulting, business development, program design, and strategic communication to help organizations be of service to vulnerable communities, implement strategic initiatives, and scale positive outcomes.
Having worked in and alongside executive teams in consultancies, community-based organizations, universities, and municipal government, Jermeen has diverse experience helping organizations better serve under-resourced communities and advance equity.
Prior to founding Community Up, Jermeen was a Director at a government and non-profit advisory firm where she led partnerships with government, nonprofit partners, and service providers to leverage data, build feedback loops, and develop incentive structures to drive resources to improve well-being outcomes for social services recipients.
Jermeen has worked with the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family services as a consultant and chief of staff to lead a variety of cross-sector strategic planning and community-based human-centered design initiatives to strengthen the continuum of prevention services and improve service delivery to children and families, leading projects from strategy through action and results.
Jermeen has a BA in philosophy and history from Emory University, an MA in mass communication from Georgia State University, and an MBA with a specialization in social impact from the UCLA Anderson School of Management.
